It turns out, You’ll need a pretty big space to play Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit on.
If it wasn’t evident yet when it was first revealed, Home Circuit will allow players to control AR enabled karts across a track of their own creation, turning any space into a virtual race course. A new trailer from Nintendo gives us an overview of how the game works, and recommended a 10x12ft space to play on for maximum fun.
If you’re fortunate enough to have a space that can accommodate this setup, you’re in for a treat. There are 24 grand prix races in total and items like the red shell and bullet bill make an appearance as well.
There are multiple course variations you can try by using the 4 gates that are included in the package, and you can even use your furniture to be part of the obstacles spread out on the course. You can even choose race “skins” to lay on the tracks, with hazards like molten rocks and ghosts that will test your skill.
Since you are controlling real life karts, it is interesting to point out that your kart will go slower or faster depending on what’s happening in the game, and choosing the 200cc class over the 50cc will actually affect how fast your kart will move. Winning races will reward you with coins that you can use to customize the look of your character.
Up to 4 players can race, given that each racer has a Nintendo Switch and a Home Circuit kart to use. The Home Circuit game software must be downloaded to play the game.
Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit will be released on October 16 for $99.99 or around PHP5,000. You can head on over to the Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit website for more information.
