Here’s why Sony or Microsoft are not processing some Cyberpunk 2077 refunds

Cyberpunk 2077 and CD Projekt Red have been in the spotlight since the launch late last week and while the game received beaming reviews, many aren’t happy with how buggy the console releases have been. So much so, that CDPR have apologized and have offered refunds.

Based on the transcripts of the recent CDPR conference call as posted by Nibel, we see some very interesting tidbits but one thing that stands out is that while CDPR had told its players that they had a choice to push for a refund, they do not have a special arrangement with Sony or Microsoft to help out with the refund process. The main reason why refunds are being denied by Sony and Microsoft is because some cases already fall out of bounds from their current refund policy, and while their policies could be improved further, this looks to be a case of passing the buck more than anything, especially knowing that most of the digital purchases will no longer be eligible based on existing rules.

This comes on the heels of all the complaints from the players who have been playing Cyberpunk 2077 on the base PS4 and Xbox One consoles, which have been massively underperforming compared to what was marketed.

For Southeast Asia, Epicsoft have made an announcement regarding the refund process for physical copies of Cyberpunk 2077, which will start taking in requests come December 17.
