PlayStation Studios is working on 25 new games, nearly half are new IP
Sony is gearing up for a big generation, and with the PlayStation 5 showing demand on a massive scale as evidenced by the inability for stocks to keep up, PlayStation Studios is focusing on providing the players with games, games, and more games. In fact, PS Studios head Herman Hulst has gone on to say that they are working on 25 new games, and nearly half of which are new IP’s.
This comes from a recent interview on Wired, as Hulst says that “There’s an incredible amount of variety originating from different regions. Big, small, different genres.” Indeed 25 games is quite a big number, especially when you’re counting how many companies PlayStation Studios has under its belt.
We do know that Horizon Forbidden West is coming later this year barring any delays. God of War Ragnarok and Gran Turismo 7 are also in the pipeline, along with the new titles from Haven Studios and Firewalk. Returnal just released, and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is looking to be the next big hit.
We’ve no idea yet on what the other studios like Naughty Dog and Bend are up to, and even Sucker Punch is still in the mix.
The future of this generation is looking pretty exciting, and more than the new technology, the players just want games, and PlayStation Studios is preparing to offer a whole boatload of games in the coming years.
