Atlus has a new Vanillaware project in development

Persona may be receiving a lot of love from Atlus, but that doesn’t mean they’ve forgotten about their other properties. In fact, an upcoming Famitsu interview with GM of the Consumer Software Division Naoto Hiraoka (which was leaked by Ryokutya), it was revealed that Atlus has about 5-6 internal projects in development, but if they were to include collaborations, that number would be bumped up to 10.

Part of that reveal, it was also noted that the company is “further investing” in Vanillaware games and other IP’s, and that a new Vanillaware game is in the works. Vanillaware is the developer of the narrative masterpiece 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, which we reviewed (and loved) last year.

Atlus has been very busy as of late, and in the past year or so alone, titles like Persona 5 Strikers, Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster, and the upcoming Shin Megami Tensei V will be released. We’ve yet to hear about the new Etrian Odyssey and Project Re Fantasy, and these could very well be on the list of those in development.

Whatever the case, fans of these properties from Atlus should be excited for what’s to come for the rest of the year, and we hope to hear more about it soon.
