While we were hoping for an announcement about Final Fantasy XVI, we received news about another RPG in the form of a new Star Ocean game.

It’s been a while since we received a new game in the series, but during the State of Play Livestream, Tri-Ace announced the next saga in the series – Star Ocean: The Divine Force. Check out the trailer below:

The latest game will involve a “Double Hero” system where the story will unfold from each of the protagonist’s perspective. The trailer shows a surprising amount of gameplay, mostly involving exploration and battle.

Star Ocean: The Divine Force will feature a story that can change based on the choices of the player along with a rich lineup of characters and freedom of movement to explore the vast lands by flying around. It is also touted to feature the “fastest and mightiest action in the series”

Star Ocean: The Divine Force will release for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC in 2022.
