Hades Makes History As The First Video Game To Win A Hugo Award
Hades, the genre-defining effort from Supergiant Games, has made history over the weekend by winning a Hugo Award, which is an annual literary award for extraordinary science fiction and fantasy works.
Creative Director at Supergiant Games Greg Kasavin, also the voice of Hypnos in the game, didn’t get to attend the awards ceremony in person but shared some of his thoughts, thanking everyone for believing and hoping that the Hugo Awards will continue to recognize outstanding works in the video game space as well, seeing as this video game category is a one-off for this year.
Hades beat out the likes of The Last of Us Part II, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Spiritfarer, and Blaseball.
Our review of Hades calls it “worthy of the gods”, with the experience elevated further on the latest release for the PS5 and Xbox Series, which sees the visual quality pumped up to a stunning 4k. The game is absolutely perfect, garnering multiple awards from various industry outfits for its gameplay and outstanding narrative.
Hades is now available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Switch, and PC.
