Diablo Immortal Debuts Class Change Feature and More End-game Activities

Diablo Immortal is adding some highly-requested features to the game, including a class change, a new endgame activity called Hero’s Journey, and much more.

Set to go live on July 20 at 3 AM Server time, players can finally choose to play as different classes instead of creating new characters and going through the trouble of actually leveling up another one.

The change class mechanic will be available to players starting at level 35 as they visit the Shifting Flames brazier in Westmarch. A class change can be done once every seven days at no cost, but there’s also a one-time option to immediately revert to your previous class, skipping the seven-day waiting period.

By changing classes, a full reset of the paragon trees will be given and placeholder gear of a comparative rank will be equipped. Clan, Warband, and other social affiliations will carry over, so don’t worry about losing those!

Sadly, some class-specific cosmetics and gear will not carry over when you change classes, and any class-specific cosmetics will be retained on that class upon changing back to it.

“Since Diablo Immortal doesn’t have traditional seasons where you start from scratch, we wanted to give players a chance to try out something new without losing all of their progress,” says Game Director Wyatt Cheng. “The Class Change feature allows you to try a different play style while keeping things like your Paragon, Legacy of the Horadrim, Bestiary, Legendary gems, clan, and social relationships.”

Additionally, a new end-game experience will be part of the latest Diablo Immortal update called Hero’s Journey, which will unlock during the Frozen Tundra portion of the main questline.

Players will experience specific objectives that scale in difficulty as they rise in Paragon Levels, but will reward them with large sums of gold or Platinum to Aspirant’s Keys, Legendary Crests, and even the Glorious Journey Portrait Frame.

Wyatt Cheng says that the team has “heard the feedback that players want more opportunities to obtain certain rewards and these kind of content updates with events are just some of the ways we are implementing more options for all players to earn rewards like Legendary Crests.”

Other additions to the update are the Adventurer’s Path limited-time event (July 20 at 3 AM to August 3 at 3 AM server time), the new Helliquary Boss – Gorgothra the Claimer (starting August 2), and the Hungering Moon limited-time event (July 29 at 3 PM to August 1 at 3 AM server time).

Players can find out the full details of all the updates on the Diablo Immortal website.

Diablo Immortal is now available worldwide for iOS, Android, and PC.
