God of War Ragnarok Synopsis Confirms Travel to Each of the Nine Realms

The official store page for God of War Ragnarok has been updated with new information, specifically a synopsis that provides us with a clearer look at what to expect.

As spotted by The Gamer, the synopsis reads as follows:

Fimbulwinter is well underway. Kratos and Atreus must journey to each of the Nine Realms in search of answers as Asgardian forces prepare for a prophesied battle that will end the world. Along the way they will explore stunning, mythical landscapes, and face fearsome enemies in the form of Norse gods and monsters. The threat of Ragnarök grows ever closer. Kratos and Atreus must choose between their own safety and the safety of the realms.

One thing players can look forward to is the specific mention of journeying to “each of the Nine Realms,” since 3 realms were closed out during the first game from 2018. While other realms like Muspelheim were only really “challenge” realms and not full-fledged worlds like Midgard, it would be interesting to see just how big this game gets if all realms can be traveled to.

The synopsis also mentions that God of War Ragnarok is set during Fimbulwinter, which takes place before the actual events of Ragnarok, possibly giving us a look at a lengthier adventure than initially thought. Kratos and Atreus will also have to face “Asgardian Forces” in their journey towards the fabled end of the world.
