Let's Unbox the Live A Live Collector's Edition

After almost 30 years, the legendary RPG Live A Live from Takashi Tokita is now available worldwide, making it the first official worldwide release since it was never released outside of Japan back in the day. It has been reborn as an HD-2D remake, much like Octopath Traveler and Triangle Strategy, and has been receiving positive reviews over at Metacritic and Open Critic.

A Collector’s Edition of the game was also made available in limited quantities to fans but was exclusive to the Square Enix Japanese e-Shop, and as you can imagine, was sold out rather quickly. The full set retails for 22,000 Yen (around PHP 10,000) and contains the following:

Enamel Bag

It might be a bit pricey, but based on the contents alone, it seems justified. The bag that it comes with is spacious and of great quality, plus the board game looks to be a fun time, although everything is in Japanese. Considering the limited quantities and the fact that this is a game that finally sees a worldwide release after almost three decades, the value seems totally worth it.

First off, we have the Live A Live Nintendo Switch base game with a bonus sticker!

Next, we have the lovely 2-disc soundtrack with a built-in artbook that hosts the lovely artwork of the game, and even a few extras from the development team.

The artbook being glued to the soundtrack case may be a bummer to some, but at least there’s a lesser chance of misplacing either one!

Next up is the plastic Structure Arts Steel Titan set that we didn’t get the chance to build… yet. We’re waiting for the proper time to do so, but maybe we’ll finish the game first!

We’ve also got a trendy enamel messenger bag with the Live A Live logo plastered on the front part of the bag. It’s quite spacious, and because of the material, is very much waterproof, so it’s perfect for the rainy season!

Last, we have the fantastic Live A Live board game, which we’ll have to read up on first as everything is in Japanese. The inclusions are lovely, especially the carved figures of the characters and the cards that come along with it, so fans have another thing to fiddle around with!
