Burning Shores, the Horizon Forbidden West Expansion, Coming to PS5 Only on April 2023
Guerrilla Games has announced that Burning Shores, the Horizon Forbidden West expansion, will be coming to the PS5 on April 19, 2023.
In this DLC, Aloy will pursue a sinister threat in the untamed wilds of Los Angeles, now a treacherous volcanic archipelago. A dangerous new region just south of the Tenakth Clan Lands will be available to explore, and will feature a compelling storyline that will include new characters, adventures, and more.
It is important to note that this DLC will be exclusive to the PS5, so PS4 players will be out of luck if they want to continue Aloy’s journey. It was necessary for the team to concentrate on just the PS5 version to achieve the technical and creative vision that they had in mind.
Our creative vision for the Burning Shores is an ambitious expansion which will take Aloy to the ruins of Los Angeles. It’s an overgrown and fractured city that can be fully explored via the water and flying on the back of a Sunwing. A massive machine threat lurks in its shadows – a huge challenge that Aloy must overcome by using all of her skills and abilities. To achieve this grand vision technically and creatively, we’ve made the difficult decision to focus all our efforts on making an incredible experience exclusively for the PlayStation 5 console.
