In the first episode, Father Antonio Zabala, a real-life Catholic priest from the Philippines, shares his thoughts about the game and how he enjoys playing Diablo IV. Zabala is a priest and college administrator at San Sebastian College, and shares that his gaming roots started with Blizzard products, namely Starcraft and Diablo.

Zabala says that “Diablo is the visual representation of the struggles of everyday people,” and as we go on our daily lives, we always choose to combat evil. He also says that he feels a connection to the game because, similar to how the characters protect people from Diablo, as a Priest, he does the same thing.

Neyrelle, a character in the game, is described as being full of hatred because of the death of her mother. Zabala often meets people with the same circumstances and his duty as a Priest is to “be more forgiving so that in the end, you fight evil by doing good.”

Zabala shares that his favorite class in Diablo IV is the barbarian “because fighting evil means there is no mercy. Evil engulfs you, evil wins over you and takes you in. You go in there, fight them, and win the battle.” It has been his favorite class since the first game, and as the Vessel of Hatred expansion beckons, he is excited to take on more challenges presented in the new levels and activities.
