The Elder Scrolls Online Reveals Season Zero: Dawn and Dusk, Launching April 2

ZeniMax Online Studios announced a new era for The Elder Scrolls Online with the introduction of ESO Seasons. Each Season will last around 90 days, offering distinct themes, gameplay content, and rewards. Importantly, all Seasons content will be free for ESO owners.

The Elder Scrolls Online Season Zero: Dawn and Dusk

Launching April 2, 2026 for both PC and console, Season Zero: Dawn and Dusk kicks off the new format. Highlights include:

  • The Night Market: A limited-time event zone in Fargrave, available for seven weeks. Players can pledge allegiance to one of three factions, tackle PvE challenges, and earn the free player home Night’s Den.
  • Challenge Difficulty: Arriving June 8, this optional overland difficulty system introduces four tiers with increased rewards.
  • PvP and Combat Updates: The new Veterancy PvP progression system and the first Dragonknight class refresh are live now.
  • Player Experience Improvements: Over 20 quality-of-life changes, including faster mount training, UI-based skill respecs, bag upgrades, and higher furnishing limits.

Season One and Beyond

Looking ahead, The Elder Scrolls Online Season One will bring back the Thieves Guild with a new story in Glenumbra and introduce The Sage’s Vault, a puzzle-focused gameplay area. Players can also expect a mind-bending questline featuring Sheogorath, the Daedric Prince of Madness.

Future Seasons will expand ESO with naval combat, underwater exploration, solo dungeons, and the Crimson Veldt, the first new base game Trial since 2014.

ESO Returns to Skyrim

In early 2027, ESO players will revisit Skyrim in a brand-new Excursion Zone, featuring dynamic blizzards that directly impact gameplay.

Platforms and Access

  • PlayStation Plus: Members can claim the Gold Road Collection for free until April 6, which includes the ESO base game, the 2024 Gold Road Chapter, and all previous Chapters.
  • PC Game Pass & Xbox Play Anywhere: ESO arrives on June 2, 2026, expanding access to even more players.
