It’s finally here! Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto VI just premiered on Netflix, and it was definitely worth the wait.
Here’s everything we learned and saw from the Grand Theft Auto VI extended look.
Grand Theft Auto VI – Everything Shown in the Netflix Extended Look
Jason and Lucia Take Center Stage
The showcase opened with Jason and Lucia navigating Leonida’s streets, highlighting seamless cutscene transitions and Red Dead Redemption‑style interactions. They are seen running a mission for “Boobie” when things go wrong, and they have to run. The transition from cutscene to gameplay looks seamless.
Jason even pets a dog, which is always a good sign.
Combat and Carjacking Upgrades
Combat is a major step up from GTA V, borrowing elements from RDR2 and Max Payne 3. Carjacking now includes stealth options, such as using a slim jim, eliminating the need to smash windows.
Slice of Life and Busy Streets
This is followed by casual moments with Jason and Lucia, like grabbing a beer and watching TV. Driving through Leonida reveals far busier streets than San Andreas, with strangers and dynamic encounters confirmed. The streets are bustling, and everything looks pretty darn amazing.
Heists, Flashbacks, and Dual‑Player Mechanics
A flashback shows Jason and Lucia caught after a failed heist, setting up the story. Gameplay demonstrates dual‑player mechanics where the non‑controlled character actively assists in combat and robberies.
Raul’s Introduction and Police Chases
Raul finally appears and is introduced during the extended look, joining Jason and Lucia during a police chase where both can be seen shooting cars and even ditching it at the end to avoid being tracked. Players can swap between driving and shooting roles, adding flexibility to high‑intensity escapes.
Expanded Activities in Leonida
Rockstar teased strip clubs, e‑scooters, rally racing, diving, workouts, livestreams, and smaller heists. Nightlife missions feature detailed interiors, with Phil Collins’ music confirming his return to the franchise.
Release Date Locked In
The Extended Look concluded with sweeping shots of Leonida and its characters, reaffirming Grand Theft Auto VI’s launch date: November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
