Resident Evil Village will run at 4K 60FPS on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X
During the recently concluded Resident Evil Showcase, Capcom revealed a whole bunch of details for the upcoming game, including demos and the return of Mercenaries. As per the official Resident Evil Village website, the target resolution and frame rate outputs have also been revealed.
To no surprise, the next-gen systems such as the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X will be fully capable of running the game at 4K HDR / 60 FPS with Ray Tracing off. Turning on RT will dip down the frames to 45 FPS. Impressively, the Xbox Series S will run the game at 1440p HDR 45 FPS without RT, and 1440p HDR 30 FPS with RT.
For the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X, the target output is 1080p at 60 FPS, reaching 4K 30 FPS when set to resolution mode. The standard PS4 and Xbox One models will play the game at 900p 45 FPS.
This actually checks out with the PS4 Pro gameplay reveal, which showed surprisingly good performance. Either way, whichever system you choose to play it on, Resident Evil Village will surely be a great experience.
Resident Evil VIllage is scheduled to be released on May 7, 2021 for the PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox One and Series X/S.
