Meet Laya De Leon Hayes, the voice of Angrboda in God of War Ragnarok
During the recently concluded PlayStation Showcase, one of the biggest and most anticipated titles shown was God of War Ragnarok, which showed off a full 3-minute reveal trailer that left fans wanting more. A number of major characters were also revealed at around the same time courtesy of a post by the IGN Twitter account showing Kratos, Thor, and much more.
One of the more intriguing characters towards the end of the trailer is Angrboda, who is voiced and performed by Laya De Leon Hayes, a 17-year old actress and singer born to a Filipina Mother and a Black Father and is known for her role as Disney’s Doc McStuffins and as Delilah on The Equalizer.
In God of War Ragnarok, Angrboda is “is a Jötunn, wife of Loki, and mother of Jörmungandr, Fenrir and Hel.” With this being the description, it would be interesting to see how her character will have an impact on Kratos and Atreus, especially since it was mentioned that she is the “mate of Loki.”
Fans of the game would know the “twist” in the ending of the 2018 masterpiece so Angrboda’s appearance is not really surprising, but it remains to be seen what role she will play in God of War Ragnarok.
God of War Ragnarok is scheduled to release for the PS4 and PS5 in 2022.
