The reveal of Life is Strange: True Colors on Square Enix Presents as their featured game has been to much fanfare. Apart from the game though, the main revelation is that the new installment will not be launching in an episodic format and will launch as a full game on September 2021. I love it when I get a prediction right.

The new direction of Life is Strange will feature a brand new cast of characters including the new protagonist, Alex Chen, who has the “curse” of feeling other people’s emotions as an advanced empath. It is still true to the series’ premise where every new episode features a new character with supernatural abilities such as Maxine who can manipulate time and Daniel who has omega level telekinesis.

Alex returns to the town of Haven Falls for a new start and to be reunited with her long lost brother, Gabe. After Gabe’s accidental death, Alex must now come into terms with her burgeoning powers and the mystery around Gabe’s fate.

Life is Strange: True Colors is appearing to be more graphically superior than the rest of the series, also implementing more freedom in exploration of the town of Haven Springs unlike the previous games that present a linear, episodic adventure along the lines of the Telltale franchise. Should we remind you again that we’re getting a full game this time, around?

A Life is Strange remastered collection was also announced, which can be purchased separately or as part of the True Colors Ultimate Bundle.

Life is Strange: True Colors will be launching on the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC on September and pre-orders are now available.
