Outriders, the upcoming RPG shooter from developers People Can Fly, didn’t quite leave an impression when it was first revealed back in February. It looked great, but the gameplay really seemed like it could use some help. Turns out, that teaser was probably just a setup for this reveal, and we’re liking what we see so far.

The first Outriders broadcast was aired recently, showing off impressive gameplay and high octane action, with a deep dive into the classes and abilities that the game has to offer.

It’s looking solid, with enough variety to keep you coming back for more. Right now it’s looking like a mix of third person Destiny, a dash of Mass Effect Andromeda, and maybe even sprinkles of Gears of War here and there. All very good shooters for sure, so we hope Outriders is taking all the good and leaving the bad behind.

Outriders will release across generations and is currently scheduled to launch this Holiday 2020 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
