Hitman 3 strikes an exclusivity deal with Epic Games Store for PC
Hitman 3 will be closing the Agent 47 Trilogy when it launches in January next year and PC players will have to continue the journey on the Epic Games Store, for 12 months, as IO interactive strikes an exclusivity deal for PC players.
As announced by IO Interactive, the deal with Epic has allowed them “the freedom to create HITMAN 3 exactly as we imagined and self-publish the game to our players directly.”
Along with the announcement, a new location called Dartmoon, England has been unveiled and will take players to a “historical part of England known for its grassy meadows, rocky hilltops, winding rivers and dense wetlands.”
Dartmoor, England will present players with an interesting proposition, by giving players the change to “take on the role of detective to solve a murder and eliminate your target“, whereas prior you only had to think of ways to eliminate your target.
Hitman 2 players on PC will get to transfer their Steam progress into Hitman 3 on the Epic Games Store should they choose to do so, due to the exclusivity deal. Locations from Hitman 1 and 2 can also be transferred as well.
Hitman 3 will be available in January 2021 on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Google Stadia, and PC.
