First look at a PlayStation 5 DualSense unboxing

In case you haven’t seen it being flaunted by IGN, Gamespot, and Geoff Keighley, the PlayStation 5 is being sent to the Western media ahead of its launch on November and while it seems the content for those units is still under embargo, there’s already a full unboxing and teardown video of the DualSense controller brought to us by Austin Evans, a very well known content creator and also the same Austin Evans that got an early look at the Xbox Series X earlier in the year.

In the video below, Evans unboxes the DualSense, takes us through the paces of what the controller can do, connect it to a PlayStation 4 and an Xbox Series X, and even uses it to test XCloud because why not.

Similar to Geoff Keighley’s early impressions, Evans actually has a lot of good things to say about the controller and how the buttons feel, giving off the notion that the DualSense is a premium product, fitting for the next-gen console. It is definitely larger and heftier than the DualShock 4, but the grip and feel on the hands is superb. Oh, Evans also mentions that it isn’t really white, but more of a grey-ish tone.

Surprisingly, the PS4 recognizes it as a controller and the microphone even works while connected to the PS4, so there may be a possibility that it could work on it but… why would you even use it on a PS4?

There’s going to be a whole lot of PlayStation 5 news soon, and we are expecting some of the Western media outfits to publish their first impressions on the device most likely this week so keep a lookout on that if you’re itching for more next-gen news!
