Sucker Punch have found great success in Ghost of Tsushima, selling upwards of 5 million units since it debuted in July, making it the fastest-selling first party original PS4 exclusive. This was announced by none other than Hermen Hulst himself, head of PlayStation Worldwide Studios.

Sucker Punch, not one to shy away from some social media banter, thanked everyone for all the support.

In comparison, Horizon Zero Dawn, which has become one of the best games of this console generation, sold over 2.6 million units over its first 2 weeks and The Last of Us Part II selling 4 million copies in the first 3 days, making it the fastest selling PlayStation 4 exclusive ever.

Back in July, Ghost of Tsushima set the record for the fastest selling first-party original IP debut, with 2.4 million units sold over its first 3 days. It recently released its Legends multiplayer add-on, which was received very well by the players for its highly polished and fun cooperative gameplay.

Ghost of Tsushima is also playable on the PS5, which will give you a 60fps boost along with faster load times. Fans looking for more will want to sit tight as Sucker Punch may be gearing up for a new game.
