Destiny 2: Lightfall Coming in February 2023

Bungie has announced that Destiny 2: Lightfall will be coming on February 28, 2023, bringing with it new subclasses, a new world, and much more.

The latest expansion was announced during the recently concluded Destiny 2 Showcase, which was a celebration of the community and all things related to the game. Lightfall is dubbed as “the beginning of the end” and will play host to the latest Darkness subclass in the game called “Strand”.

Strand will look to play a big part in the traversal mechanics of the game, and will show off different effects depending on the class of the player. “Tap into a new (and green) spectrum of reality, pull strength from a never-before-seen power, and shape new abilities to defeat Calus and his Shadow Legion,” the description reads.

Story-wise, Destiny 2: Lightfall brings Guardians to Neptune and challenges players to explore the secret metropolis of Neomuna, a city untouched by the Collapse, leaving its structures and neon-lit streets pristine. This setting will serve as a crucial step towards the conclusion of the Light and Darkness saga.

On top of this, a host of new features will also be added to Destiny 2, including an in-game coop matchmaking mechanic (finally), new exotics, and a ton of new activities. Bungie has also announced that they will no longer sunset any expansions.
