New Slimmer PS5 Model Announced, Coming in November
Sony has announced a new PS5 model that’s launching this November in the US and will roll out globally in the following months.
According to Sony, this new PS5 model will see a reduction of over 30% in volume, 18% and 24% in weight compared to the previous models. Instead of 2 panels, the new model will come with 4 separate cover panels (2 top and 2 bottom), with a glossy top portion and a matte bottom portion.
The new model will sport a smaller form factor but will also feature an attachable Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive and a 1TB SSD, which is an improvement from the previous 825GB SSD. The Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive will be sold separately for $79.99 (around PHP 4,500).
Additionally, this new package will come with a horizontal stand, but a vertical stand that’s compatible with all PS5 models will be sold separately for $29.99.
