Netflix has announced that the live-action adaptation of Yu Yu Hakusho will debut exclusively on Netflix on December 14.

Previously, the main character cast for this live-action adaptation of Yu Yu Hakusho has also been revealed, and they are the following:

• Yusuke Urameshi – Takumi Kitamura
• Kurama – Jun Shison
• Hiei – Kanata Hongo
• Kuwabara – Shuhei Uesugi

Yu Yu Hakusho was created by the legendary Yoshihiro Togashi and made waves when it was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump for four years from 1990. Its legendary status is being approached by Netflix with care, adopting a unique global one-team production strategy that spanned both Japan and the United States—the same approach to adapting the acclaimed “ONE PIECE” manga.

The series has been in production for 5 years, and well-known VFX studio Scanline VFX was instrumental in giving life to all the characters, both human and yokai (spirits), while delivering realistic battle action sequences.
