Sony Announces Two New PlayStation CEOs as Replacements for Jim Ryan

Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced Hermen Hulst and Hideaki Nishino as the new CEOs of PlayStation effective June 1, 2024.
Hermen Hulst will become CEO of the Studio Business Group, which handles “development, publishing, and business operations of SIE’s first party-content,” while Hideaki Nishino will become CEO of the Platform Business Group, which handles “technology, products, services, and platform experience” along with overseeing “third party publisher and developer relations and commercial operations, including sales and marketing of hardware, services, and peripherals.”
Both new CEOs will be collaborating closely together and will focus on “deepening engagement with existing PlayStation users and expanding experiences to new audiences.” They will also be reporting to COO and CFO Hiroki Totoki, who took on the role temporarily after Jim Ryan’s retirement.
