Digital Extremes took the stage at its 11th annual TennoCon today with a major update for Soulframe, the studio’s upcoming free‑to‑play fantasy action RPG.

During a special Soulframe Devstream, the team announced that players can secure permanent access to Soulframe Preludes simply by creating an account on the official website by July 12 at 11:59 p.m. ET.

SOULFRAME ACCESS FOR ALL

In celebration of the community, Digital Extremes is once again opening the gates to Soulframe Preludes. Players who sign up before the deadline will gain uninterrupted access to the current build, including its growing roster of weapons, Fables, characters, and Pacts.

After July 12, sign‑ups will continue, but new players will enter a weekly raffle for access.

New Fable Quest: Warsongs Arrives This Fall

The highlight of the Devstream was the reveal of Warsongs, a new Fable quest arriving later this Fall. This chapter introduces a darker progression path through the Vadagar Pact, allowing Envoys to channel corruption and wield the destructive power of Ichor.

Abilities teased include:

• Exploding boomerang throws
• Tendrils that ensnare enemies
• A corrosive stampede of spectral steeds

Creative Director Geoff Crookes emphasized that Warsongs explores themes of redemption, despair, and balance—core elements of Soulframe’s narrative identity.

Ben Starr Joins Soulframe as Tempest Bayor

Actor Ben Starr (Clair Obscur: Expedition 33) will portray Tempest Bayor, a red‑armed Envoy who aligns himself with the invading Ode forces. Accompanied by his raven companion, Bayor stands as one of the game’s central rivals.

The Devstream also confirmed the first in‑game appearance of the Empress of Eldveil, voiced by Jennifer English, who may hold deeper insight into Bayor’s motivations.

New Boss: Mendicant Reinbreaker

Players can now face the Mendicant Reinbreaker, a mounted Ode menace available in Soulframe Preludes. Defeating him not only ends his rampage but may also free his steed, opening the possibility of befriending it later.

Fishing Mini‑Game Added to Preludes

A new fishing activity has been added, allowing players to join Grandfather Doyen in a nostalgic lakeside pastime. The feature ties directly into the narrative while expanding Alca’s worldbuilding.

Mounts Coming Later This Year

Digital Extremes confirmed that mounts are officially on the way. Players will soon be able to traverse Alca with a full‑grown wolf companion.
