You can Sort of Play God of War on Your Xbox
In case you really, really want to play God of War on your Xbox but cannot for obvious reasons, there’s something on the Microsoft store just for you for only $4.
Spotted by Eurogamer, it is entitled “War Gods Zeus of Child” (say what now?) and developed by Dolaka Ltd, the game is an obvious rip-off of the 2018 God of War game featuring Kratos, even down to the look of the character model and weapon.
Even the game description is pretty funny:
War Gods Zeus of Child is a great war game. Destroy all enemies and creatures with the Zeus War Gods of challange [sic]. Kill them all with your gun. Launch attacks with various combos. Reach the highest monster kills without dying. Feel the power of the warning god.
Eurogamer also has some actual gameplay of the title, and it simply looks like waves of monsters approaching Kratos for him to dispose of for a high score. Red Bandana Gaming on YouTube also shared a gameplay clip of the title, which is as buggy as it is hilarious.
This God of War “clone” doesn’t look polished at all and was developed in Unity, with no sound effects on it, and it really looks like it’s just there to score a quick buck off of some sales. As per Eurogamer, the game looks to be a part of the Xbox Creators Program, which allows developers an easier time making games and selling them on Xbox and PC.
As of writing, the store page is no longer available and has probably been taken down by Microsoft, as it would certainly be a bad look for them allowing a product of such quality to make its way to their store. Still, it did serve its purpose to be a source of comedic relief during these times.
Meanwhile, God of War Ragnarok is scheduled to launch on November 9, 2022 for the PS4 and PS5, where the ‘real’ Kratos battles it out across the nine realms for an unforgettable journey.
