Sandfall Interactive’s Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has taken 2025 by storm with its visual style and exhilarating turn-based combat. While the game may be over, Game Director Guillaume Broche has more stories to tell, and hints that the journey is far from over.
Clair Obscure Franchise Details
In a recent interview with YouTuber MrMattyPlays, Broche clarified that Expedition 33 is not the final chapter. “Clair Obscur is the franchise name,” he explained.
“Expedition 33 is one of the stories that we want to tell in this franchise. Exactly what it will look like and what the concept will be is still too soon to announce, but what is sure is that this is not the end of the Clair Obscur franchise.”
These comments highly suggest that future entries under the franchise are indeed coming, and seeing as Broche is a Final Fantasy fan as well, it may very well follow that format. Of course, details are still scarce and it is still too early to know, but for the millions of fans of the game expecting something that follows, there’s good news on that front, at least.
