ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) has officially unveiled the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X gaming handhelds in the Philippines, developed in collaboration with Xbox. These new devices promise a seamless Xbox experience in a portable form factor, combining the best of console and PC gaming.

ROG Xbox Ally Series – Built for Comfort and Performance

The ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X feature redesigned chassis inspired by Xbox controllers, offering improved ergonomics and grip for extended gaming sessions. The Ally X takes things further with impulse triggers for enhanced haptics and immersion, making it ROG’s most comfortable handheld yet.

Under the hood, the Ally X is powered by the AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor, while the standard Ally runs on the AMD Ryzen Z2 A processor. Both devices are optimized for performance and efficiency, with support for AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR), Radeon Super Resolution (RSR), and Fluid Motion Frames (AFMF) for smoother gameplay.

Seamless Xbox Experience on Windows 11

The ROG Xbox Ally series runs on Windows 11, but boots directly into a full-screen Xbox interface. Players can navigate using joystick and button controls, access settings via Game Bar, and enjoy quick access to their Xbox library. Despite the Xbox-first UI, users still have full access to PC games and mods.

Optimized for Handheld Gaming

Xbox’s new Handheld Compatibility Program ensures thousands of PC titles are optimized for the Ally series. Games will be labeled as “Handheld Optimized” or “Mostly Compatible,” helping players identify which titles run best on the device.

Additionally, advanced shader delivery enables supported games to launch up to 10 times faster, improving battery life and performance during the initial play.

AI-Powered Features Coming Soon

The Ally X includes a built-in NPU that will unlock AI-powered features starting early next year, including:

• Auto Super Resolution (Auto SR): Upscales games at lower resolutions for smoother visuals.
• Highlight Reels: Automatically captures key gameplay moments for sharing.
