In a nutshell

• Marathon Server Slam runs February 26–March 2 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam.

Bungie has announced that Marathon’s Server Slam will run from February 26 at 10 AM PT to March 2 at 10 AM PT. This open preview weekend is designed as a large-scale technical stress test, inviting players worldwide to log in, crew up, and push the servers to the limit ahead of the game’s official launch on March 5, 2026.

Expect login queues, possible disconnects, and downtime as Bungie monitors performance and prepares for launch.

What Players Can Experience

During the Server Slam, players will get a slice of Marathon’s gameplay:

• Explore two zones on Tau Ceti IV: Perimeter and Dire Marsh.
• Take on contracts for five factions: CyberAcme, NuCaloric, Traxus, MIDA, and Arachne.
• Try out five Runner shells plus the scavenger-focused Rook.
• Play solo, squad up, or form temporary alliances with proximity chat.

Rewards for Participation

Players who complete the introductory mission during the weekend will unlock:

• Beta.exe emblem
• Complex Study player background

Progression during the Slam also unlocks tiered Arrival Caches with weapons, implants, and shell cores. Rewards will be delivered at launch on March 5.

Reach Runner Level 30: Unlock the Deluxe Arrival Cache (Blue)

• Deluxe and Enhanced Runner shell cores (1x each for each shell, 12x total)
• Deluxe and Enhanced weapon chip mods (2x each, 4x total)
• Weapons: Deluxe Magnum and Enhanced Volley Rifle
• Backpack: Enhanced Base Backpack

Additionally, watching Marathon streams on Twitch during the event grants cosmetic rewards, including emblems, weapon skins, and stickers.

Marathon Server Slam – No Subscription Needed

The Server Slam does not require PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass, making it accessible to all players. It will also be part of Xbox Free Play Days and Steam Next Fest, ensuring maximum reach across platforms.
