Lionsgate has officially launched a worldwide casting search for the three young shinobi of Team 7 — Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, and Sakura Haruno — in its upcoming live-action adaptation of Naruto. Other character casting will follow.

Director’s Vision for the Naruto Live Action Film

Filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton expressed his excitement: “Kishimoto-sensei’s stories have inspired generations of fans around the world, and it’s an honor to bring his world and characters to the big screen in live action for the very first time.”

Destin Daniel Cretton is known for his work on Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021), and is directing Spider-Man: Brand New Day (2026)

Series creator Masashi Kishimoto shared his heartfelt reaction:
