The Pokémon Company has announced that Part 1 of the Pokemon Pokopia Expansion Pass, titled Bubbly Basin, will launch on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2.
Alongside the paid DLC, a free Ver. 2.0.0 software update will also go live, expanding the relaxing town‑building game with new mechanics and seasonal events.
Bubbly Basin: Underwater Town‑Building
Players will join Popplio and Ditto in the new underwater town of Bubbly Basin, fulfilling Pokémon requests to gradually develop the area. New features include:
- Watermelon crops grown in underwater fields with help from Water‑type Pokémon.
- Buoyant blocks to build floating, multi‑level structures.
- Bubble machines and powered devices, activated by Pokémon with the Generate specialty.
- New furniture, outfits, and even a Sharpedo submarine Secret Base.
Adventures extend into the deep sea, glowing coral paths, and multiplayer exploration of Dream Island.
Expansion Pass Roadmap
The Pokemon Pokopia Expansion Pass includes three parts:
- Part 1: Bubbly Basin (Aug 5, 2026) – new town, Pokémon, furniture, crops.
- Part 2 (late 2026) – introduces accessories and more customization options.
- Part 3 (2027) – adds another new town plus additional content.
Players who purchase the Expansion Pass will also receive a Dynamic Ditto print recipe and a bonus of 30 rare Pokémetal ingots if purchased before August 31, 2027.
Pokemon Pokopia Free Ver. 2.0.0 Update
The free update introduces the move Dive, taught by Manaphy, allowing players to build underwater towns and even lay railway tracks beneath the waves.
Additionally, the seasonal event “Fetching Scales for Feebas” begins August 13, 2026, letting players collect prism scales to befriend Feebas and Milotic and unlock swimming‑themed furniture.
