Global furniture giant IKEA and gaming powerhouse XBOX have joined forces to launch YXSTABY, a new nine-piece collection designed to improve gaming spaces without sacrificing style.
Combining functional design with gaming-focused features, the collection aims to address the realities of modern living, especially in homes where gaming setups often need to adapt to shared spaces.
A Collection Built Around How Gamers Live
Created through a collaboration between designers from both companies, the YXSTABY collection was developed with a simple goal: make gaming furniture that people genuinely want in their homes. The lineup includes gaming chairs, movable TV stands, storage solutions, stools inspired by XBOX controller thumbsticks, and other pieces designed to integrate seamlessly into everyday living spaces.
According to IKEA Product Design Developer Philip Dilé, the partnership allowed both companies to combine their strengths in gaming and home design.
“XBOX knows what players need from their gaming setup, and we know how to solve the small problems that come with adapting that to everyday life at home.”
XBOX Devices Head of Design Carl Ledbetter added that both brands share a common goal of helping people solve challenges in their daily lives.
Designed for Filipino Gaming Households
IKEA notes that gaming has become an increasingly important part of everyday life, with billions of players worldwide. The company highlighted how Filipino households often require flexible furniture solutions, allowing gaming spaces to transform depending on the needs of the family.
The collection includes products designed around these practical needs, such as a TV stand on castors that can easily be moved between rooms, a rolling side table for gaming accessories, and cable storage solutions that can unfold into laptop stands.
XBOX-Inspired Details Bring Playful Character
The YXSTABY lineup features a number of playful nods to XBOX hardware. Products include a D-pad-shaped cushion inspired by the controller’s directional pad, a thumbstick-inspired stool, a stainless steel platter modeled after controller inputs, and display solutions designed for gaming collectibles and controllers.
Among the standout products is a gaming lounge chair designed to accommodate both forward-leaning and reclined gaming positions, ensuring comfort during quick sessions and extended marathons alike.
