Once Human is preparing to unleash its most unusual season yet. Developer Starry Studio has announced that Season 5: Dissonant Resonance will launch globally on November 19, bringing a bizarre new apocalypse where sound itself becomes both a weapon and a threat.
At the center of the new season is a colossal pipe-organ machine god that watches over the world, transforming Nalcott into an eerie battlefield where gunfire, combat, and survival become part of a dark symphony.
Once Human Season 5 – A Living Machine God Watches the World
One of the biggest additions in Dissonant Resonance is a massive living-machine colossus inspired by cathedral pipe organs. Rather than serving as mere scenery, the entity constantly observes the world below and dynamically reacts to player actions through changes in its movements and expressions.
Season 5 also introduces new Anomaly Zones themed around Joy, Rage, Sorrow, and Fear. These emotionally charged areas alter gameplay and encourage players to interact with a new rhythm-based mechanic.
Defeated enemies will drop musical notes that can be shot and collected, allowing players to create pitch-tuned battle rhythms while cleansing corrupted scores. Successfully restoring these melodies rewards players with powerful acoustic buffs, adding a musical layer to the survival experience.
Face the Music in New Colossus Raids
Players looking for a challenge can take on a new four-player cooperative raid against the descended colossus. Unlike traditional boss encounters, the battle evolves alongside dynamic music tracks that affect the battlefield in real time.
Raid participants will need to disable glowing Resonating Pipes, navigate hazardous environments, and utilize aerial vehicles to disrupt Resonating Cavities before the colossal enemy’s deadly composition reaches its climax.
Nailoong Takes Over Nalcott
Alongside the new season announcement, Starry Studio has also launched a limited-time collaboration with the viral animated IP Nailoong. The crossover event in Once Human is available now and lets players earn themed cosmetics, emotes, avatars, name cards, and a special Deviant skin.
Players can also participate in group dance activities and other lighthearted event challenges while collecting exclusive rewards.
