Film Concerts Philippines has announced that The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring in Concert will make its way to Manila from March 4 to 6, 2027, at The Theatre at Solaire, giving Filipino fans a chance to experience Peter Jackson’s beloved fantasy epic accompanied by a live orchestral performance.
The concert experience pairs a full screening of the 2001 Academy Award-winning film with a live performance of composer Howard Shore’s iconic score. Taking the stage for the special event are the 96-member Filharmonika Orchestra, the Philippine Madrigal Singers’ 100-member adult choir and 50-member boys’ choir, and soloist Malena Rampi, all under the direction of Australian conductor Reuben Blundell.
The combined 247-member ensemble marks the largest production assembled by Film Concerts Philippines to date.
A Journey Back to Middle-earth
Based on the literary works of J.R.R. Tolkien, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring follows Frodo Baggins and his companions as they embark on a perilous quest to destroy the One Ring before it falls into the hands of the Dark Lord Sauron. The film became a landmark cinematic achievement, earning 13 Academy Award nominations and winning four, including Best Original Score for Howard Shore.
Together with The Two Towers and The Return of the King, the trilogy garnered 17 Academy Awards and became one of the highest-grossing film trilogies ever produced.

Since its debut in Lucerne, Switzerland in 2008, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring in Concert has been performed worldwide by leading orchestras and forms part of the larger Lord of the Rings concert series, which has surpassed 500 performances globally.
