Gran Turismo 7 delayed to 2022
Those looking forward to Gran Turismo this year will have to wait a little longer, as the game has been delayed to 2022.
During an interview by GQ with Sony’s CEO Jim Ryan, he discusses the future PSVR tech on PS5 as well as commenting on PS5 production delays and upcoming games, when a curious statement from a Playstation PR representative mentions a Gran Turismo 7 delay from 2021 to 2022.
When Ryan was asked about Gran Turismo 7 during the interview, a PR representative took over the call and said, “GT7 has been impacted by Covid-related production challenges and therefore will shift from 2021 to 2022. With the ongoing pandemic, it’s a dynamic and changing situation and some critical aspects of game production have been slowed over the past several months. We’ll share more specifics on GT7’s release date when available.”
While the news is disheartening for racing fans, it is not at all surprising with the many delays that’s filled the news sites starting the year of 2021. At least we’re getting four free games with Sony’s “Play at Home” Initiative, starting with Ratchet & Clank on March 1.
Gran Turismo 7 is a PS5 exclusive title slated for 2022.
