Valve’s Steam Deck is slowly making its way to those who have been lucky to get their pre-orders in. Getting one this early is a feat in itself, but getting one delivered to you by Gaben himself is an honor.

Valve founder Gabe Newell, or Gaben as he is more popularly known, saw it fit to play Santa to some lucky folks and personally delivered some Steam Decks that he even signed as the icing on top of the cake. It was amusing to see the faces of the customers who received the package, which was a mix of “oh my God it’s Gaben” to “I’m sorry, who are you?”

Can you imagine coming home from work and you’re told that someone named Gabe Newell delivered a package to you?

Gaben revealed that he used to deliver newspapers and telegrams, so going door-to-door certainly brings back memories for him. He does seem like he’s genuinely enjoying the reactions of people and he always makes it a point to tell them to email him about what they think of the product. Despite getting hundreds of emails per day, he makes it a point to read them all. Good guy Gaben.
