Huge achievement for a new IP.

Sony continues to prove to everyone that they indeed have the golden touch when it comes to first-party exclusives, as evidenced by Sucker Punch’s Ghost of Tsushima breaking the 8 million barrier in terms of sales.

Bolstered by the recent release of the Director’s Cut, which elevates the experience especially when playing on the PlayStation 5, along with expanding Jin’s adventures with the addition of the Iki Island DLC. Sucker Punch thanked fans with a silly gif, fully appreciative of all the support that everyone has given them and the game since it launched back in 2020.

8 million copies sold might seem like a small number to some, especially given the fact that Ghost of Tsushima is one of the best games released in recent memory, but in the context of it being a new IP, it becomes truly a remarkable feat. 10 million seems like an inevitability, especially if Sony proceeds to bring it to the PC similar to God of War.

Congratulations, Ghost of Tsushima and Sucker Punch!
