Ahead of its release date on February 18, 2022, the PS5 file size of Horizon Forbidden West has reportedly been revealed by PlayStation Game Size, a Twitter account known for its mostly accurate file size reveals for PS games.

Horizon Forbidden West File Size and Pre-load

Those expecting something small will be disappointed, as Horizon Forbidden West is looking to weigh in at a whopping 96.350 GB without a day one patch. The account notes that some games on the database may have bigger file sizes compared to when on the console, with a variance of around 10-20 GB, but also says that it will still be above 70 GB.

The pre-load date will be on February 11, a full week before its launch.

Considering that the PS5 should have good file compression techniques as evidenced by other games, the game having a file size of above 70 GB may mean that the PS4 file size might be even bigger, so we can only imagine for now how big the actual game is to merit this file size.

Of course, compared to other recent games like Mass Effect Legendary Edition and Final Fantasy VII Remake, this doesn’t seem so bad and is still relatively small when placed in line among the likes of NBA 2K22 and Warzone.

Horizon Forbidden West will be available on February 18, 2022 for the PS4 and PS5. Pre-orders across local retailers are also available now.
