It seems that Netflix can’t get enough of The Witcher.

After a successful first season and a planned season 2 in the pipeline, Netflix has announced The Witcher: Blood Origin, a 6 part live-action spin off series.

Blood Origin will be a prequel and will be tackling the origins of “Witchers”, taking place 1,200 years before Geralt of Rivia. Irish Screenwriter Declan De Barra and Showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich will take the reigns for the upcoming spin-off.

Hissrich describes the project as a way to “dive deeper into the myth and lore of the Continent” and following a question from a fan asking if Andrzej Sapkowski is involved, Hissrich answered with a prompt “Hell yes”.

No other details have been shared at the moment.
