SEGA Genesis Mini 2 Gets October 27 Launch Date

SEGA has announced that the Genesis Mini 2 will see a North America release on October 27, 2022.

Initially announced back in June for Japan, this latest mini console from SEGA will feature 50+ games that were previously unreleased on the first Genesis Mini and will also include SEGA CD titles.

The Genesis Mini 2 will include the much appreciated and classic 6-button controller layout, which is a veritable blast from the past. SEGA mentions that the controllers released for the SEGA Genesis Mini are also compatible, so that’s a great little feature.

The SEGA Genesis Mini 2 is currently available for pre-order on Amazon for $103.80 (around PHP 5,500), so local fans looking to snag one of these will have to wait for official announcements from their favorite retailers.

The currently confirmed list of games can be seen below:

  • Sonic CD
  • Shining Force CD
  • Silpheed
  • Mansion of Hidden Souls
  • Night Striker
  • The Ninja Warriors
  • After Burner 2
  • Out Run
