Here’s a piece of good news: Previously delayed indie brawler Sifu now receives a new release date of February 8, 2022. The originally announced release date used to be February 22nd, and in this time where delays have been the norm, this is quite a pleasant surprise.

It is also a wise move, steering clear of Elden Ring and Horizon Forbidden West because that was just a death wish waiting to happen.

According to the developers Sloclap, “We have made good progress on getting our game ship-ready and we are excited to be able to launch Sifu two weeks earlier than anticipated. To celebrate, we have prepared two brand-new gameplay videos that will be revealed today.”

Along with the new release date is a video explaining the Aging and Combat mechanics. You can watch them both below:

As seen previously in trailers that came before, Sifu is a revenge tale where a Kung-fu student is out on a rampage against his family’s murderers. You will traverse through the underbelly of the city, suburbs, and hallways of corporate towers. You will use the environment to your advantage utilizing throwable objects, makeshift weapons, even windows and ledges. You’ll learn through your errors, strengthen yourself with unique skills, and master the techniques of your school – Pak-Mei Kung-Fu.

Sifu will now launch on February 8, 2022 for the PS4, PS5, and PC through the Epic Games Store.
