Sony acquires Valkyrie Entertainment

Amidst the sea of news and reveals from the recently concluded Game Awards is a little announcement that silently flew by everyone. Announced by Hermen Hulst, Sony has added another member to the ever-growing PlayStation Studios family in Seattle-based studio Valkyrie Entertainment.

Valkyrie who, you might ask? Valkyrie Entertainment is an outsourcing studio and has contributed to very high-profile triple-A titles such as Halo Infinite, League of Legends, Valorant, and God of War among others. This acquisition will indeed bolster Sony’s lineup in producing quality titles in the years to come.

The acquisition follows others earlier in the year, with the likes of Housemarque, Bluepoint Games, Nixxes, and Firesprite. There’s no news yet on what they will specific titles they’ll be working on, but you can bet they’re already very busy for a big 2022.
