As announced by Masahiro Sakurai himself, Steve from Minecraft is the newest fighter to join Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Yup, we never thought we’d see the day but it has arrived!

You can watch the full reveal presentation below:

Steve presented the development team a tough time, code-wise, since a lot of the levels had to be reworked to accommodate the blocks that he builds, so his playstyle will be a very interesting one to say the least. A deep dive of the character will take place on October 3 at 730AM PT (1030PM Philippines) during Minecraft live.

Steve is part of Fighters Pass 2, which retails $29.99 (around PHP1,500), but you can choose to purchase separately for $5.99 (around PHP300). Fighters Pass 1 included the likes of Joker from Persona 5, Hero from Dragon Quest, and Terry Bogard from Fatal Fury, among others.

Before Steve, Min Min from Arms was the latest Super Smash Bros. Ultimate character to join the roster and is part of Fighters Pass 2.
