Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart for PlayStation 5 will offer a 60fps option
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart recently showed off some pretty impressive gameplay that is sure to take advantage of the new hardware that the PlayStation 5 will be bringing to the table. The hardware will be put to the test because as confirmed by Insomiac, Rift Apart will have a 60fps option.
An interview with Japanese outfit Famitsu reveals that the upcoming title from Insomniac will feature a 4K 30fps option and another at 60fps but with “lower resolution”.
4K 60fps with all the other bells and whistles like ray-tracing is understandably tough, even on high end PC’s, so the next-gen consoles will have to compromise a bit. It could be highly possible that 4K 60fps is still achievable but removing some of the other special effects that would push graphical boundaries.
Similarly, Spider-Man: Miles Morales is also offering a 60fps performance mode when it releases alongside the PlayStation 5.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will release exclusively for the PlayStation 5 during its “release window”.
