Ahead of its September 18 release, WWE 2K Battlegrounds brings out a new trailer that sees Paul Heyman walk us through the many over-the-top game modes that will be available.

As a replacement for the annual WWE 2K series, Battlegrounds is an arcade style beatdown that has over 70 WWE Superstars in what can only be described as wild, crazy, and honestly looking like a lot of fun.

In Campaign mode, play as one of the seven newly created Superstars, such as Bolo Reynolds and Jessica Johnson, and team up with Paul Heyman and Stone Cold Steve Austin as you travel the globe in search of new Superstars for an all-new WWE brand.

One of the highlights of 2K Battlegrounds is the King of the Battlground mode, where you Battle to become the Last Man (or Woman) Standing as you and up to seven other online players burn it down and try to toss one another out of the ring. Think Royal Rumble, but crazier and more explosive.

Other modes include Online Tournament, Battleground Challenge, and Exhibition, which features crowd favorites like tag team, triple threat, steel cage, and much more.

WWE 2K Battlegrounds is scheduled to release on September 18 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC, developed by Saber Interactive.
