Final Fantasy fans must be feeling great after the weekend. Between getting the FF7 Remake for free on PS Plus and 2 new mobile games in Ever Crisis and The First Soldier, the PS5 upgrade of Final Fantasy VII Remake has also been revealed. Entitled “Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade“, the PS5 version will sport various graphical and performance updates, along with a new DLC that introduces our favorite Materia thief, Yuffie.

PS4 gamers who are looking forward to playing the new DLC content will be out of luck, unfortunately, as Square Enix have confirmed that the Yuffie DLC will not be coming to the PS4 and will be a PS5 exclusive.

According to an FAQ page from the FF7R Intergrade Website, the new Yuffie episode is “optimised for PlayStation 5, so it is not available on PlayStation 4.” This effectively means that you’ll need a PlayStation 5, which is currently out of stock, in order to enjoy the full benefits of not just the performance upgrade, but the DLC contents as well.

The Yuffie DLC is also available as a standalone purchase for those who have availed of the free PS4 to PS5 upgrade, but no price has been revealed for it yet. You also cannot play the Yuffie episode without purchasing Intergrade or from upgrading to the PS5 version from the PS4, even though you can purchase it separately.

This update does not include the new episode featuring Yuffie. The new episode featuring Yuffie can be purchased separately. After the patch has been applied, an option will appear on the title menu for the PlayStation 4 version to carry over your save data.
