As the opening salvo for the recently concluded Playstation Showcase, Lucasarts and Aspyr has finally announced the much rumored Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake.

Developers Aspyr Media worked on previous Star Wars games such as Republic Commando and Jedi Outcast, but this time, they’re working on arguably the best and most iconic Star Wars video game of all time so expectations are understandbly high.

As detailed on the PlayStation Blog, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake will be a console exclusive at launch for the PS5 and Aspyr have assembled a veteran team of developers to work on the remake, even from the original team that worked on the game when it first released nearly 20 years ago.
