Max Payne 1 And 2 Remakes Coming To PS5, Xbox Series, And PC From Remedy

In an announcement that caught a lot of people by surprise, Remedy has announced a remake of Max Payne and Max Payne 2 will be coming to the PS5, Xbox Series, and PC.

Under a new publishing agreement that will see Remedy taking development and Rockstar financing the endeavor that is said to be in line with a “typical Remedy AAA-game production.” The partnership of both companies dates back to the original release in early 2000 and was considered an iconic franchise that has left its mark in history.

The remakes will be developed using the Northlight game engine, which powers Control and Alan Wake 2, so you can expect that these new titles will be looking rather slick when it is released especially with a Triple-A budget infusion.

“We were thrilled when our long-time friends at Remedy approached us about remaking the original Max Payne games,” said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games “We are massive fans of the work the Remedy team has created over the years, and we can’t wait to play these new versions.”

“Max Payne has always held a special place in the hearts of everyone at Remedy, and we know the millions of fans worldwide feel the same,” said Remedy CEO, Tero Virtala. “We’re hugely excited to be working with our partners at Rockstar Games once again for the chance to bring the story, action, and atmosphere of the original Max Payne games back to players in new ways.”
