Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion Will Target 60FPS on PS5 and Xbox Series, Uses Unreal Engine 4
The upcoming release of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion will see a 60FPS target on both PS5 and Xbox Series consoles.
This information comes from a recent interview with IGN, where Producer Mariko Sato pointed out the performance targets of the game across the various platforms. PC players will be able to enjoy the game up to 120FPS.
Switch players, on the other hand, will see the performance take a hit due to the hardware limitations. While Sato did not specify a number, she did say that there would be “differences” in the resolution and FPS. A safe assumption would be 30FPS, if the NieR: Automata port is to be taken as a benchmark.

Furthermore, Sato explained that Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion is more than just a regular remaster, as all original assets are being replaced with newer versions made in Unreal Engine 4, putting it in line with the standards of the Final Fantasy VII Remake.
Although this is the case, fans should not expect a new story, as it won’t stray too much from the original, with no plans to include any new elements such as side-quests and other storylines.
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion is scheduled to release this Winter for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Switch, and PC.
