Despite persistent rumors, Sucker Punch has now confirmed that they have not been working on any inFAMOUS or Sly Cooper game and that the studio has currently no plans to revisit these franchises for now.

The statement was posted on a blog post by the studio, saying that their current games require the full attention of the team due to the growing scale and complexity of these projects. Despite these characters being dear to the team, Sucker Punch has further squashed rumors by saying that no other team is working on these franchises as well.

As our games continue to grow in scale and complexity, they require the full attention of our studio. With our focus on our current project, we have no plans to revisit inFAMOUS or Sly Cooper right now, and no other studio is currently working on projects related to those franchises either. These characters are very special and near and dear to our hearts, so while we’d never say never to re-opening those doors down the road, for now there are no inFAMOUS or Sly Cooper games in development.

Back in October of last year, rumors circulated that Sly Cooper was indeed primed for a comeback. Early this year, claims of a new inFAMOUS also circulated, bringing up the hopes of franchise fans.

With this update, it seems pretty clear that the team will be ramping up efforts for Jin Sakai’s further adventures, so Ghost of Tsushima fans should definitely get hyped at what’s to come.
